In the third week of its release, the number of moviegoers on the weekend was 187,146 with sales of USD 1.5 million, accounting for 31.8% of the total weekend sales.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore topped the list of foreign films released this year, and following The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure (1.33 million viewers), it became the 2nd film that has surpassed 1 million viewers this year. 2nd place in the first weekend of May is I Want to Know Your Parents, directed by Kim Jihoon and starring Sul Kyunggu. Based on the subject matter of ‘school violence’ that has emerged as a social problem in Korea, the film depicts the problems of parents of violent offenders. The film was released on April 27 and attracted 159,608 viewers over the weekend. The 20th Century Fox International Productions invested in the film and the shooting was over in 2019, but the release of the film was delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In addition, the omnibus horror film Urban Myths, which features a lot of idol singers, ranked 3rd with around 42,000 viewers over the weekend, and TOXIC, which started in 2nd place last week, ranked 4th with 30,542 viewers over the weekend. Released on April 6, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 kept 5th place with 28,126 viewers over the weekend.

In the 1st week of May and the 2nd weekend since the lifting of distancing rules, the number of moviegoers was about 589, 000, which increased by 130,000 compared to 456,000 last week. The availability of drinks and food in the theater from April 25 also seems to have had a positive effect on the increase in the number of moviegoers.
