2 DAYS, 1 NIGHT Runs Strong
Miyazaki Hayao’s animation, Spirited Away topped the diversity chart. The film first released 13 years again in 2002 June was re-mastered and rereleased on February 5th. Although many years have passed, little Chihiro’s adventures were still exciting and the love from the fans is still strong. Five days after its release, the film saw 85,288 admissions. Jumping up into the chart had pushed Chef to second place. However, the weekly admissions were 20,000 and the admissions have been dropping slowly. In total, Chef sold 129,681 tickets. Dardenne brothers’ 2 Days, 1 Night finished the week in 5th place and brought in just over 40,000 admissions. Looking at the number of screens, this is a surprising record. Although the film has run for over a month, the admissions seem to be growing.
First week of February at the diversity box office saw new releases. France’s comedy film, Le pere Noel, Palestine thriller Omar, and a documentary about a man named SONG Ho-joon who built his own satellite in The Basement Satellitetook 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th place respectively.
