The film, HANSAN: RISING DRAGON, was pre-sold to 99 countries, including North America and France, along with major Asian countries such as Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Vietnam. It is encouraging that the historical drama genre films about Korea's war history will be screened in theaters around the world.

Lotte Entertainment, which is in charge of overseas sales of HANSAN: RISING DRAGON, said, "Overseas buyers appreciated the commerciality of the high-quality maritime battle scenes and the perfect war action genre with strategy and resourcefulness."  Especially in North America, the film will be released on July 29 in theaters at the same time as Korea. Australia and New Zealand confirmed their release on August 4 and Taiwan on August 19.

HANSAN: RISING DRAGON is the 2nd episode of Director Kim Hanmin's ‘Yi Sunsin Trilogy project.’ The first episode, The Admiral: ROARING CURRENTS, attracted 17.61 million viewers when it was released in 2014, ranking top in the Korean box office hit record that has not yet been broken. Through the screen, HANSAN: RISING DRAGON revived the Battle of Hansan, which occurred 5 years before the Battle of Myeongnyang, the background of The Admiral: ROARING CURRENTS. In the 2nd episode, Actor Park Haeil plays Admiral Yi Sunsin, who shows his strategy to protect Joseon against Japanese forces, and actors Byun Yohan, Ahn Sungki, Son Hyunju, Kim Sungkyu, Kim Hyanggi, and Ok Taecyeon star in.

HANSAN: RISING DRAGON, released in Korea on July 27, surpassed 210,000 pre-ticket sales, recording the largest number of pre-ticket sales for Korean films since PARASITE. Currently (July 27), HANSAN: RISING DRAGON maintains more than 49% of the real-time reservation rate of the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), retaining the top overall movie reservation rate.
