The 18th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival Opens K-Movie Original Film Concert

The Film Concert is Planned to Export to the World Stage, the First Step in Globalizing K-Movie Music

 


 

The 18th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival will hold a film concert with a large orchestra. The film concert is an event you listen to the soundtracks through orchestra live performance while watching the movies. At the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival this year, the film One Fine Spring Day (music by Cho Sungwoo / directed by Hur Jinho), starring Yoo Jitae and Lee Youngae, and the film Leafie, A Hen into the Wild (music by Lee Ji-su / directed by Oh Sungyun), the representative K-animation, will be screened with their OSTs. Also, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its release, E.T (music by John Williams / directed by Steven Spielberg) is screened with its OST in the film concert.

 

The Jecheon International Music & Film Festival said, "We will hold this film concert to promote K-Movie music to the world. Starting this year, we will produce an original Korean film concert every year, and we will premiere it during the festival and export it to the world." Through the event, the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival will take the first step toward the globalization of K-Movie music as well as musical films. 

 

The Jecheon International Music & Film Festival invited a world-renowned conductor for the film concert. Han Juheon, the permanent conductor of musicals at Linz State Theater in Austria, is in charge of conducting Leafie, A Hen into the Wild, and One Fine Spring Day. Also, Jessica Gethin, a maestro who worked with world-renowned film musician John Williams, is coming to Korea to conduct the OST of E.T. at the film concert. Korea's leading orchestras, including the Seoul Grand Philharmonic Orchestra, Korea Coop Orchestra, and Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, will participate in the film concert, and the audience can enjoy large-scale and diverse orchestra performances during the festival. 

 

The 18th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, where the audience can be touched by movies and music at the same time, will be held for 6 days from August 11 to 16 in Jecheon. The film concert will be held for 3 days from August 12 to 14 at the Uirimji Stage and the Airfield Stage in Jecheon. The film concert of Leafie, A Hen into the Wild, and One Fine Spring Day at Uirimji Stage will be free, and the E.T. concert at the Airfield Stage will be charged.
