Moon Sori and Bang Minah Receive Acting Honors from 22nd Women in Film Awards.

Everglow (2020) actress Ko Dooshim has earned the top award at this year's 22nd Women in Film Awards.

A veteran performer who made her debut in the early 1970s, Ko has amassed many credits on the stage, TV and film. Among her most memorable films appearances have been My Mother, the Mermaid (2004), Family Ties (2006), Good Morning President (2009) and EXIT (2019). Ko received this year’s Women in Film Award for her leading role in the indie drama Everglow (2020), a romantic drama set on Jeju Island. A Jeju native herself, Ko plays a female diver who enters into a relationship with a younger TV producer.

The Best Director Award from this year’s event went to Lee Ranhee, for her debut feature A Leave (2020), which premiered in the New Currents competition of last year’s Busan International Film Festival. This year’s Best Producer Award went to Kim Minkyoung, who produced the documentary Good Light, Good Air. Three Sisters (2020) lead Moon Sori picked up the Best Actress Award, following many other Best Actress prizes on this year’s awards circuit.

The Best New Actress Award went to Bang Minah for her part in the indie Snowball (2020). Meanwhile, Snowball director Lee WooJung also won the Best Screenplay Award, a prize shared with Kim Mijo, the director of Gull (2020). The Best Documentary Award went to Park Yunjin for People in Elancia (2020).
