Crime Mystery Also Stars Cho Jinwoong, Kim Heeae

Rising star Lee Sugyeong has joined the main cast of the upcoming wavve original film Dead Man (literal title). She joins a line-up that already includes Cho Jinwoong and Kim Heeae. Production kicked off earlier this month.

Dead Man follows the story of a man who is falsely accused of embezzling a large sum of money, who has to go on the run, and a woman who works as a mysterious consultant who controls a group of influential politicians.

Lee Sugyeong has signed on to play Gong Heejoo, who believes her father was killed by the ‘Dead Man’ now on the run and begins to plot her revenge.

The young actress first appeared on the scene in the gangster drama Coin Locker Girl (2015). She went on to make her mark in films such as the thriller Heart Blackened (2017), the horror-comedy THE ODD FAMILY: ZOMBIE ON SALE (2019) and this year’s heart-warming Chuseok drama Miracle: Letters to the President, for which she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the upcoming Blue Dragon Film Awards. She is also in the cast of the upcoming Netflix spy thriller Yaksha: Ruthless Operations.

Dead Man is the second original feature being produced by wavve, the first being the crime drama Gentleman (literal title) with Ju Jihoon, Choi Sungeun and Park Sungwoong. Both films are expected to premiere on the service, in theaters in a day and date model at some point next year.
