Mystery-Thriller Marks Feature Debut of Director SOHN Won-pyung

SONG Ji-hyo and GIM Mu-yeol recently signed on to headline the upcoming film Daughter (working title). The mystery-thriller went into production on February 13 and marks the feature-length directing debut of short filmmaker SOHN Won-pyung.

The film follows the story of Yoo-jin, who disappeared as a child and suddenly returns 25 years later as a woman (played by SONG). GIM plays her older brother Seo-jin, a promising architect who has doubts regarding this woman he doesn’t recognize. Seo-jin still hasn’t moved past the childhood trauma he experienced from losing his sister all those years ago.

SONG, who made her debut in the horror film Wishing Stairs in 2003, has been increasingly active on the big screen in recent years and was seen in both What a Man Wants and Unstoppable in 2018. She is also known for works such as A Frozen Flower (2008) and New World (2013). KIM appeared in KIM Jee-woon’s ILLANG : THE WOLF BRIGADE last summer and is also known for his leading roles in Forgotten (2017), WARRIORS OF THE DAWN (2017) and Northern Limit Line (2015).

Director SOHN has directed over half a dozen short films throughout her career and was also a scripter on E J-yong’s Dasepo Naughty Girls (2006). She also wrote the dramatization for the period comedy A Tale of Legendary Libido (2008).
