Bilingual Korean Star Eyes Hollywood Debut
Actress LEE Ha-nee (sometimes known as Honey LEE) has become the latest Korean star to sign with a Hollywood agency. LEE will be represented by Phillip Sun at William Morris Endeavor (WME) and David Unger, the CEO of Artist International Group (AIG). The arrangements will expand her scope to Hollywood, as reported by her Korean management company Saram Entertainment.
A Master’s Degree holder in Traditional Korean Music from Seoul National University, LEE rose to fame after being crowned Miss Korea in 2006. Following her stint as beauty pageant title holder, she played the gayageum, a traditional Korean instrument, professionally and began to appear on television. She eventually debuted in film with the 2011 thriller HIT. She has also appeared in Tazza-The Hidden Card (2014) and as the lead of SORI: Voice from the Heart (2016).
2017 proved a big year as she featured in three films, man-on-the-run thriller Fabricated City, legal thriller Heart Blackened and family comedy The Bros. Earlier this year, LEE participated in the closing ceremony of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, performing a Korean traditional court dance.
