Film Tops Vietnamese Box Office in the First Week of Release
JUNG Chae-yeon, a member of idol girl group DIA, and rapper San E starred in the Korean-Vietnamese co-production Live Again, Love Again, which was released on February 2nd in Vietnam. Within its first week of release, the film topped sales at the box office and is performing very well. It is scheduled to be released in Korea on February 22nd.
In Live Again, Love Again, composer Ji-pil (San E) finds out about the death of his ex-girlfriend Yoon-hee (JUNG Chae-yeon). When he hears a song through social media by chance, he decides to head to Vietnam by following Yoon-hee’s traces to look for the song’s piano player, Mi (Chi Pu). JUNG Chae-yeon has built her acting career through TV dramas such as Sweet Temptation (2015) and Drinking Solo (2016), but this is both her and San E’s first film. Popular Vietnamese actress Chi Pu, who starred in Saigon Bodyguards (2016), also appears in the movie. The film was helmed by Director HAN Sang-hee whose previous directing credits include Jaurim’s music video for I’m Sorry, I Hate You, as well as films Virgin Snow (2007), The Language of Love (2014) and Trumpet of the Cliff (2017).
Live Again, Love Again, was produced by Donuts Culture and HK FILM. Donuts Culture, a management company that also produces music albums, previously produced films such as Her 13th Month (2011), HOLLY (2013), and Just for You (2017). Notably, Live Again, Love Again was also co-produced by telecommunications company SK Broadband’s OTT platform, Oksusu. This January, SK Broadband announced that, “2018 will be the first year of many where Oksusu will start producing original content.” SK and Oksusu have allocated three times as much money for the content investment budget compared to last year.
