Another K-pop star is headed to the big screen. HAN Sang-hyuk, a member of the K-pop boy group VIXX, has been confirmed to star in family drama Goodbye My Father (translated title).

In Goodbye My Father, father Suk-jin (PARK Sung-woong) and his son Ha-neul (CHOI Ro-woon and HAN Sang-hyuk) scrape by playing the saxophone on stage at night. The film promises to show the struggles of small-time people as well as their success stories. HAN will play the younger version of Ha-neul who has a stronger relationship with his father than anyone else. HAN made his debut playing the role of HAN Won-tae, one of the four high school troublemakers in Chasing, which was released in January, 2016. Goodbye My Father will be his second feature.

Other cast members include PARK Sung-woong of New World (2013), SONG Sae-byeok of A Girl at My Door (2014) and KWON Hae-hyo of The Day After (2017). The human drama will be young director KIM Jung-hwan’s feature debut and will be produced by Golden Story Pictures. Filming for Goodbye My Father began on October 14th with the movie set to be released sometime next year.
