PART-TIME SPY Infiltrates Asian Markets

Korean Action-Comedy Bows Day and Date in March


Action-comedy PART-TIME SPY is scheduled to open in Korea on March 16th as well as four other Asian nations on the same day, including Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. On March 31st, the film is also scheduled to open in Vietnam.

KANG Ye-won stars in the film as a 35-year-old intern desperate to land a full time job. She lands an internship with a national security agency but is quickly fired. However, when she discovers that her boss is involved in a phishing scam and senses an opportunity to get her job back.

PART-TIME SPY was produced by STORM PICTURES KOREA which has presented a varied array of recent films, including Busan titles such as ZHANG Lu’s A Quiet Dream (2016) and the drama Coffee Mate and previously produced the buddy cop action-comedy Untouchable Lawmen (2015). M-Line Distribution is handling sales internationally.

Last seen in Trick (2016) and INSANE (2016), KANG has been a major presence on Korean films for several years, often appearing in comedies, including Ghost Sweepers (2012), The Huntresses (2014) and Love Clinic (2015). HAN Chae-a (Made in China, 2015) and JO Jae-yun (Mood of the Day, 2016) co-star.

The director of the project is KIM Deok-su, who in 2014 debuted with the comedy-drama Dad for Rent starring KIM Sang-kyung. Before that he was an assistant director on several comedy titles, including The Art Of Seduction (2005) and Small Town Rivals (2007).
