New Thriller Co-Stars SHIN Ha-kyun and SUNG June

Filming kicks off this month for Villainess, the sophomore narrative thriller from Confession of Murder (2012) director JUNG Byung-gil. Along for the ride are his leads KIM Ok-vin, SHIN Ha-kyun and SUNG June. Production will continue for four months on the Next Entertainment World-financed picture which will hit screens at some point next year.

In the titular role, KIM Ok-vin will play a killer who was trained in China and comes to Korea while hiding her identity. While in Korea, she comes into contact with a man whose day job involved training assassins, to be played by SHIN, and another man who watched over her, to be played by SUNG.

KIM rose to stardom as SONG Kang-ho’s co-star in PARK Chan-wook’s Thirst (2009) and appeared in last year’s courtroom thriller The Unfair. SHIN is another PARK acolyte who has appeared in his seminal works Joint Security Area / JSA (2000) and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) and was last seen in the summer comedy DETOUR. Meanwhile, SUNG has forged a name for himself on the small screen but also appeared in features such as PLUTO (2013) and Horror Stories II (2013).

Prior to Confession of Murder, director JUNG helmed the stuntman documentary Action Boys in 2008.
