Investing USD 8.8 Million in THE NIGHT MAN, a Fantasy Romance by EUN Oh

Zhejiang Tianyi Film & Tv Co., a Chinese film production company, is to invest the entire production cost of USD 8.8 million in The Night Man, a fantasy romance by EUN Oh, a Korean rookie director. This latest news is moving to the center of attention in the film industry in both countries because it is very rare for a Chinese film company to make the full investment in a Korean film.

Zhejiang Tianyi Film & Tv Co., Ltd has produced several films and TV dramas in China, including My Chief and My Regiment, a war and period drama with a high viewing rate, and also a Korea-China co-production like Love Strategy featuring KIM Jung-hoon. Blind Massage, produced by Zhejiang Tianyi Film & Tv Co. in 2014, has received the Silver Bear prize at the 64th edition of Berlin International Film Festival and the Best Picture prize at the Asian Film Award (AFA).

EUN Oh is a rookie director who graduated from NYU and has worked in New York. She has directed a few shorts and mid length movies abroad, and joined the jury of Monaco International Film Festival in 2014, for the first time for a Korean filmmaker.

The Night Man, written by EUN Oh, the director herself, is a fantasy romance featuring the destined love of 4 men and women, setting in both reality and dream, consciousness and unconsciousness. EUN Oh is known to have visited the Chinese film company all by herself and got the deal. The Night Man is currently at the casting stage.
