JEONG So-Min to Co-Star in New Melodrama

Veteran character actor YOON Je-moon is taking on a rare leading part in the upcoming melodrama Dad Is Daughter (translated title), the debut film from director KIM Hyeong-hyeop, which will be produced by KIMCHI ENTERTAINMENT. Playing the daughter to his dad will be JEONG So-min, and co-stars will include LEE Il-hwa, SHIN Koo, LEE Mi-do and KANG Ki-young .

KIM’s film will follow the trials and tribulations of a father and daughter as they look to regain one another’s trust. Known for his hard-boiled roles as cops or criminals in films such as The Show Must Go On (2007), Mother (2009) and Haemoo (2014), YOON will explore a new side of his acting range as the dad of the title.

Relatively new on the block, JEONG has forged a path for herself in TV dramas and only recently taken on film roles, performing in Alice: Boy from Wonderland, which screened in the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival this year and this year’s hit youth comedy Twenty opposite KIM Woo-bin. She is currently starring in the TV drama D-Day.

Dad Is Daughter, which has yet to confirm a distributor, is scheduled to begin production in November with a release to follow next year.
