DECEMBER and LOST PARADISE Take Top Honors At Jeonju

14th Jeonju International Film Festival Awards
This year’s Jeonju International Film Festival wound to a close last Friday as the week’s awards were announced. In the Korean film competition, it was PARK Jeong-hoon’s December that took the top prize (JJ-Star, worth KRW 10 million) while Eve DEBOISE’s Lost Paradise took home the Special Jury award (JB Bank Prize, worth KRW 20 million) in the International Competition.
Other Korean features that grabbed awards included KANG Jin-a’s Dear Dolphin, which was given the CGV MovieCOLLAGE Award. The prize is worth KRW 20 million in P&A support, KRW 10 million as a cash prize and at least two weeks of guaranteed commercial release. JUNG Young-heon’s Lebanon Emotion also received a CGV MovieCOLLAGE Award with a trophy and cash prize of KRW 10 million. Meanwhile the audience award was won by PARK Moon-chil’s documentary My Place.
JEONG Han-jin’s Sweet Temptation won the Grand Prize (KRW 5 million) in the Korean Short Film Competition. Best Director (KRW 3 million) went to MIN Boung-hun’s Mask and Mirror, while the Special Jury Prize (KRW 2 million) was won by PARK Jae-ok’s Two Gentleman.
