5 Features on Kosmorama Film Festival Program

Next month in Trondheim, the Kosmorama International Film Festival will stage its 2013 edition. From April 15th to 20th, a variety of films from around the world will screen from a lineup that includes five Korean films.

PARK Chan-wook’s US debut Stoker, though not technically a Korean film, is nevertheless a new work that bears his inimitable style. It has already thrilled audiences around the world and is now set to leave an impression on Norwegian spectators. The big Korean hit from last year, CHOI Dong-hoon’s The Thieves, will add some glitz and cool to the festival with its mix of big stars and a snappy script. The animated The King of Pigs from YEUN Sang-ho, a searing indictment of bullying in Korean schools, has enjoyed a long run on the festival circuit for its no-holds-barred view of a dark reality in Korea. LEE Hyun-jung’s experimental documentary Virgin Forest can also be seen as part of this year’s program. Finally, the Chinese-South Korean co-production Don’t Expect Praises, about two young boys whose relationship is tested during their summer break, completes the Korean quintet on show at this year's Kosmorama.
