Korea’s MOFAC Studio joins with USA’s Company 3

Two of the world’s premier post-production houses specializing in color grading and digital intermediate
(DI) services -- Korea’s MOFAC Studio and the USA’s Company 3 -- have joined forces. Company 3, with its primary facilities in Los Angeles, New York City and Atlanta, has now added MOFAC as one of its many “virtual outposts” across the world.

Founded in 1994, MOFAC is a full service post-production house that can assist filmmakers from pre-
production planning stages all the way through DI processing. Services offered include conceptual art
design, matte painting, 3D modeling and animation, digital FX and 2D compositing. They have won local
awards for their work on the 2009 film <Haeundae> and have also serviced international clients such as the 2010 Hollywood feature <The Warrior’s Way> and <Spartacus: Blood and Sand>, a popular US
television series on the Starz cable channel.

Company 3 was founded in 1997 by colorists Stefan SONNENFELD and Mike PETHEL. While its
services have expanded to include many of the same that MOFAC offers, color-grading remains as its
central specialty, for which it has won a bevy of honors. Some its recent clients have included films such as <Transformers: Dark of the Moon> (2011), <Battleship> (2012) and the upcoming <G.I. Joe: Retaliation>, which stars LEE Byung-hun. In 2010, Company 3 was purchased by Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, Inc and currently still overseen by SONNENFELD.

MOFAC will now serve as one of Company 3’s nearly 20 virtual outposts across the globe, including
locations in Mumbai, Tokyo, Helsinki and London. Via MOFAC’s high quality networked display systems,
Company 3’s local clients will now be able to supervise in real-time grading or DI services being
performed by a colorist in one of Company 3’s central US locations. "For years, I have spoken with
colleagues about how exciting it would be to have the same kind of connectivity in our business that the Internet has brought to so much else," said MOFAC CEO JANG Seong Ho. "Our clients can now work
with the best colorists in the world virtually without having to travel outside the city."
