China and Korea to discuss cooperative industry growth

Korea-China Film Exchange Forum 2012 to be held on the 30th of August.
 
 
Korean planning and Chinese capital will get formally introduced to each other later this month. The Korean-China Film Exchange Forum 2012 will take place in Seminar Room 1 of the Renaissance Hotel in Beijing on August 30th.
 
This forum, co-run by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the Korean Cultural Center in China and media firm CJ E&M, is a chance to enhance networking opportunities between Korean and Chinese film-related bodies. The Korean panel consists of WON Dong-yeon (Vice-Chairman, Korean Film Producers Association), YOU Jeong-hoon (CEO, Showbox Inc.), LEE Joo-ick (CEO, Boram Entertainment Inc.), CHO Jeong-Jun (CEO, PGK) and SON Seung-hyun (CEO, Digital Idea Inc.). Chinese panel members include Mr. MIAO Xiaotian (Vice President, China Film Group Corporation), CHEN Weiming (Chairman, Zonbo Media Company) and LIU Kai Luo (Vice President, Wanda Film).
 
During the forum, panelists will discuss ways to cooperatively develop of both countries’ film industries and expand their joint market. After LEE Joo-ick carries out his presentation about ‘Trends in Film Co-production between Korea and China’, HUANG Qun Fei (CEO, Beijing Shin Ying Lian) will offer a discussion regarding ‘Strategies for the Distribution of Korean Films in China’. SON Seung-hyun will then talk about the ‘Current State of and Vision for Post-production in Korea and China’. Finally, CHEN Weiming will present on the ‘Role of Korean Crew Members in Chinese Films.'

After all the presentations are made, a comprehensive roundtable discussion will follow and individual meetings will also be held for more focused conversation. KIM Kyung-man of KOFIC's International Promotion Center said, “This forum will be meaningful because cineastes representing Korea and China will get together to search for cooperative ways to enhance exchange and intercommunication between the two countries. It will lead to a synergetic outcome for both countries’ film industries.”
