Bong-sik ends up in Jungsun, Gangwon Province, hot on the trail of Du-sam who betrayed him. There he meets Buk-nyo who tricks innocent men to make a living. Buk-nyo takes to Bong-sik believing that he is a big catch and Bong-sik also thinks that she is wealthy. Upon stealing Buk-nyo's nest egg, he witnesses her being arrested through a tip-off by a man whom he had met before. Bong-sik suddenly develops a conscience and rescues Bok-nyo by pretending to be her husband. He soon runs into Du-sam and in the midst of a scuffle between the two, Du-sam falls off a cliff. Bong-sik and Buk-nyo are now on the run. They try to survive by pulling all kinds of scams such as luring a cow trader. But each time, they fail and get into deeper trouble. They decide to abandon quick rich schemes and live in peace in the mountains. Later, they meet a truck driver who had violated Buk-nyo in the past.
