The Seoul Dance Film Festival (SeDaFF), founded in 2017, is South Korea's first dance film festival, initiated with the goal of introducing and developing interest in dance films among the Korean audience. The festival aims to increase the diversity of the domestic cinema industry and contribute to the cultural life of the local population by showing dance films that focus on their own creative merits rather than traditional genres and plots.

The festival embraces a broad definition of dance cinema, such as dance films defined largely in the United States and Europe as "choreography created for the camera," as well as narrative films and documentaries dealing with dance-related topics. Every year, the festival gives young directors a platform to exhibit their work through competitions and introduce new potential markets for Korean dance films through exchanges with worldwide dance film festivals.

The festival’s ultimate goal is to become recognized as a festival that offers contemporary audiences—who are more used to mainstream films with captivating images and narratives—artistic stimulation via fresh visual approaches.
